Nestling just below the Loire Valley halfway between Paris and Bordeaux in the charming and popular region of Poitou-Charente, is the picturesque and historical town of La Roche-Posay. Within easy reach of the West Coast and the famous resort of La Rochelle, La Roche-Posay is situated just 45 minutes by car (or bus route) from the celebrated city of Poitiers.

The Cherry Lodge apartments, Les Tournesols (2 Bed sleeps 4/6), Les Lauriers and La Lavande (1 Bed sleeps 2/4) and Les Vignes (1 Bed Studio sleeps 2), form part of a restored 1800’s style farmhouse and its ex stables and have been carefully restored retaining original features, while at the same time offering those all important modern home comforts. Set in its own tranquil grounds and with a private pool Cherry Lodge is the perfect retreat into this picturesque landscape and is an excellent base from which to explore such a charming region of France.

Whether you feel like exploring the wine growing areas of the Loire with its many Chateaux or the fine distilleries of Cognac, Cherry Lodge is ideally situated for many attractions, the most popular of which being Futuroscope the motion picture theme park. You can also go back in time and explore the medieval villages of the area , such as Angles sur L'L'Anglin – nominated as one of France’s “Beaux Villages” or go even further back to the cave dwelling times.

The elegant and historical town of La Roche-Posay, bristling with restaurants and cafes, is itself famous for its thermal baths and spa centres which use the special healing qualities of the natural spring waters for their treatments. This versatile holiday location even offers its own casino and race track with approximately six meets per year. For the more active holiday maker La Roche-Posay has its own golf course and this is just one of several in the scenic region of Vienne. The area offers superb fishing for those interested as La Roche-Posay is actually situated just west of Indre’s Parc Naturel Regional de la Brenne with its many lakes. Kayaking is also available only 30 minutes away.
